Are policies applied to devices as they should? There have been reports of problems with inventory in some instances. Some are related to device side bugs. Have you upgraded WSUS to SP2? If so try to uninstall SP2 as there are some issues related to that. If you haven't installed it - just let it be :) Does it work if you use the "Connect" utility from the resource kit? Some times it is necessary for the device to run multiple connections before the inventory is properly collected. Is it only the inventory collection that is failing? I assume you have an Enterprise CA on Windows Server Enterprise? And you've run through all the ADConfig parameters creating and enabling the templates? Thanks for posting this article which was very helpful. At the same time we faced couple of issue when we were configuring the SCMDM SP1 – Active Directory.
